Turn Your Scrubs Into A Cute Summer Dress

Old scrubs don't have to go to waste with this project.

When I was in 8th grade, my friend, Nick, whose dad was a doctor, came into school one day wearing a pair of scrubs as pants. I was shocked, impressed, and curious as to how I could make my mother's scrubs into something wearable on a daily basis, too. I never thought about scrubs as more than hospital-wear before that day. If you have a pair of scrubs you're looking to find a new use for, consider this project. With just a few snips, I turned a scrubs set into a super cute dress, perfect for summer. If you don't have any access to scrubs, always keep in mind that buying some from a thrift store is green, too.

How to turn a scrubs set into a cute dress:

Find Your Scrubs

Locate the scrubs. Feel free to mix and match colors if you'd like.

Cut to Create Skirt

Cut directly across the bottom of the crotch line in order to create a skirt. Scrubs are perfect for this technique because they're so loose in this area to begin with in most cases.

Cutt Off Sleeves

Cut off the sleeves from the shirt portion of the scrubs set.

Finish and Enjoy!

Put both pieces on and tuck the shirt piece into the skirt piece. Enjoy!

Not only is this project a great way to find a new use for a scrubs set, but it also yields a cute outfit that will grab the attention of those who see it.
