Keyboards No Longer Needed

Keyboards no longer needed, people can print one by thought, as the scientists say.

Researchers from the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville American technology created text control with the help of the brain. Thus the era in which people can communicate with each other the power of thought, has become even closer. Scientists promise in the near future to ensure that broadcast video to start (!) Straight out of our heads.

This discovery was made when a group of neurologists led by Dr. Jerry Chiha observed for patients with epilepsy. Physicians interested in the brain activity of patients during attacks, so they connect patients to the electrodes. At first they were attached to the nerves, but then Dr. Shih has decided that the most effective would be to connect them directly to the brain.

Then the researchers asked the patients to send signals through the brain every time on the big screen lit or that letter. Computer recorded the signals, comparing the way the entire alphabet with various teams of the brain. Then these data were downloaded to computers. Patients thought about specific words, the electrodes recorded signals to the brain and the computer correctly drawing the letters on the screen. Accuracy was nearly 100%!

Only in the U.S. this technology can benefit about 2 million people with disabilities. And it was not only in typing. Doctors will be able to mount the electrodes into the brain for people that can distinguish the brain waves responsible for specific actions. For example, wiggling his fingers or moving his hand. One can only imagine how high accuracy will be working bionic prostheses, replacing lost organs.

And like many other equally fantastic prospects promise this discovery!
