Amazing Eco-Friendly Buildings From the Future

Buildings From Another World

We all have our own vision of what the future will look like. Whether it be cars in the sky, living on Mars or flying away to another planetary system to establish humanity, there are numerous ideas in our heads of what may or may not be possible in the future. One futuristic idea which is currently in practice and growing in popularity right here on Earth is that of the ETFE roof. ETFE is a modern polymer which is used in the creation of texlon cushions. ETFE is a touch of the future itself, as the product was originally invented and innovated for use in the space industry.

Why It Is Used In Buildings

ETFE roofing is a growing trend which provides numerous benefits for the building owner as well as employees, residents or anyone else who constantly uses the building. One of the key components of ETFE, and a key reason for its use in space travel, is that it is UV resistant as well as not being negatively impacted on by air pollution. From a time perspective, the texlon which is produced by ETFE is extremely long lasting, meaning low levels of maintenance and making it an ideal candidate to be a permanent part of a buildings structure.
Texlon cushions are filled with low pressure air, making this membrane structure highly resistant to wind as well as acting as a natural insulator for a building. With statistics showing a great deal of a building’s energy loss being through the roof, having an ETFE roof acting as an insulation solution is an excellent way to solve two problems at once.

Health And Safety Red Tape Removal

An ETFE roof is self cleaning, due to the non adhesive properties of the texlon, meaning every time it rains you get a clean roof entirely free of charge. In the days of blame culture when you can be sued for anything and a workman won’t go anywhere without health and safety clearance, not having to worry about anyone going on the roof is a load of any business owner’s mind.
Significant differences can also be felt in the lighting of the building operating under an ETFE roof. Levels of natural light desirable to the building owner can be let in, creating a more natural ambience within the building as well as delivering cost and carbon emission reductions through the lower energy use.
In modern architecture, etfe roof is revolutionising building constructions providing many benefits.
